RB developed its range of 1/8 buggy racing tyres.
Non-professionals drivers have often difficulties to do the right choice of tire, insert and RIM. A lot of variations that the the choice even harder. Obviously, the technical specifications of RB tyres were : a high quality product, fast and easy to use.
- The tyre : a special mixture for an awesome grip ! Three thicknesses available (Super Soft, Soft and Medium) to use based on temperature and wear of the track.
- The « black » insert : very strong, can be used many times without any problem, do not disintegrate over time, even in wet conditions. Only one insert hardness profile, versatile in order to provide a comfortable driving on bumpy or flat tracks.
- The RIM : after many tests, the tension of the tyre and the insert on the RIM is an important element for optimum performances of tyres. Indeed, the RB RIM has a specific diameter…
The RIM is made in a flexible material to make it extremely durable, while keeping optimum rigidity with the two ribs holding insert and tyre together.
On the inside diameter, a large wedge prevents the RIM from rubbing against the suspension arm.
The gluing surface is deglazed for an optimal gluing of tyres.
Three small pins secure the tightening of the nut on the RIM.
The RIM is not drilled to prevent dust and water to get in the tyre.
No need to add another insert because its flexibility provides good sensations.
Available in white or fluorescent yellow. Weight of the RIM = 42 Grs.
- Gluing : Professional RB glue special rubber used to glue RB tyres (upscale and very strong). Gluing is made by hand with a double quality control. The tyre is drilled.
TYPHON is made of small pins. It is made for wet and slippery tracks with ore without mud. Also very good for flat hard tracks, the TYPHON is really effective!

SCORPION is made to be used on slippery or stoned track. It provides excellent traction while keeping good steering reactivity, without “sink in” holes thanks to its bevelled external pins. Use it with the « black » insert delivered, whose hardness is a good compromise on flat or bumpy tracks.

FURIOUS is a mix between SCORPION and DRAGON, so it has very good lateral grip while keeping good traction. It’s suitable for most of the tracks.

The RB R&D team got together with the fastest pro drivers to find the best tyres/rims combination. SpeedLine tires made with the best quality foam come with rims and are available for all types of car.

Speedline 1/8 RC On road rims are 10% lighter than standard ones
which reduce rotating mass for a faster shift in corner.
Speedline Touring RC tires are made of specific foam and the tension
of the tires on the rims is unique. Therefore, the tire wears much
less while maintaining a high grip level.
Speedline
RAIN tires are made
for use on very wet or soggy track. The wide and deep longitudinal
grooves are allowing optimum water evacuation. They’ll provide you
a good grip as the contact surface has been reduced, limiting the
risk of aquaplaning.
The
RB R&D staff released WET PLUS
tires made of the best foam for a use on wet tracks. No doubt, you
must have these tires in your trolley bag.
