The weather had turned and started to rain lightly an hour before the main final.

At the start of the main final 1st to 4th places got away cleanly but the 5th and 6th placed cars collided on the first corner which promoted David Crompton from 7th to 5th place. Within 5 mins David had made his way into 3rd place behind Stewart Wilcox and Jamie Booth.

At the 8min stage Stewart, Jamie and David all came in for their first fuel stop, David had a super fast fuel stop, which moved him from 3rd to 1st but then he made a mistake on his out lap and dropped back into 3rd place. Stewart then dropped back after making a few mistakes, leaving Jamie and David racing very closely together over 10 seconds clear of 3rd place.

David then managed to pass Jamie with another fast fuel stop at 16 minutes and then pulled away. Very quickly David extended his lead to 15 seconds and then maintained this margin to the end of the final. Jamie finished in second place, over 10 seconds clear of 3rd place Karl.
