On this page we will try to give you some insight on the things we encounter during our stay at these World Championships race held this time in Jakarta(INDONESIA).

A view of this huge World Championships track.
Monday Practise.
The day started off with technical inspection.

RB shows its presence and gives technical assistance to the racers using RB Concept engines.

Matthias RECKWARD is very concentrated and serious.
Check out the way the fueltank is being measured..., Air is being pumped via the pressure nipple and fuel receptionned in the calibration glass. Simple and efficient.

We met an old Friend 'Sam CHENG' our RB Concept engines distributor for Singapore our choosing a C6-BB and the 2045P pipe combination.

It seems that Daniel RECKWARD is confident for this race.
Hakan THERN(left below) proclaimed a new team for this week, he called this "STI", this means the "Sabotage Team International". This is a joke born during the pre-worlds race where while helping each other some things went wrong and so they accused themselves of sabotage, this of course was not the case but still Hakan wanted to remember these funny incidents by offerning a big key to Yannick and his mechanic.
Yannick tries to adjust his car with this new tool.

First practise round today and Yannick beside this joke is also very concentrated.
We should find this tool close to the car of Yannick this week.

While Cristophe his mechanic tries to find a way to carry it.

As the statistics show, RB Concept engines remains a worldwide reference in Off-Road racing... The "RB Concept C6-BB/2045P" is the most popular just after the still very popular"RB Concept WS7III/2045P",the new 2045P tuned pipe is proven to be very strong and relaible.

You have to pass these security guards to be able to go into the pit-area, if you do not have the right badge then you will not get through.

Some are just sitting in the pit-area and looking at the laptimes given on the large TV screens.

Unfortunately Richi Gomez lost a wheel in his first run.

Hakan Working while Linus is getting concentrated.
While Markus FELDMAN(D) and using RB Concept C6-BB/2045P is waiting for his turn it seems that Matthias Reckward is hearing strange noises...

Wednesday Qualification 1-2.

Some of the US drivers have a lamp on their fuelgun, it seems they are running very often in the evening and so they need to see what they are doing during the refueling.
Some are talking and some try to relax in a different way.

Washing and cleaning Area.
At Yannicks first round his fuel-line was cut by the airfilter after a bad landing in the roof, this has been solved for the next round.
On the 2nd round Yannick broke the gears of his steering-servo in the last lap while leading his qualifier.
Not a lot of luck for the RB Team-drivers today, Daniel Reckward had a first round with some big mistakes while in the 2nd round just after the refueling the brake system got blocked in his car. Linus Thern had a good first round but in the second round his rear driveshaft popped out. Guillaume Vray had a good first round but in the second round his 4! tyres came looose. Richi Gomez was feeling sick today but still drove but due to this could not concentrate very well.
All in all, a day to forget...

Thursday Qualification 3-4.

The RB Concept Revolution fuel has arrived only yesterday and is now widely used by most of the competitors.

A competitor from South Africa with his RB Concept.
The RB Concept fuel-gun, the only genuine fuelgun which has been followed up by many copy's used by the real racers.

The car of Guillaume VRAY juest after the 4th round.
The AYGOIN brothers dominated the 4th round with only them making 12 laps, Yannick was the TQ with his RB Concept C6-BB/2045/Revolution Fuel.

Yannick in ACTION.

The days are following but they do not look alike. After an unfortunate day yesterday, things are looking better for the team RB. Guillaume Vray and surely Yannick AIGOIN showed what they are worth of. In the first round Guillaume made some small mistakes while Yannick was very careful due to a twitchy car, however in the second round Yannick made an incredible pole where nobody came close except his brother Jerome still 8 seconds behind! Guillaume secured his run and placing himself also in a good spot for the final rankings
For Richi Gomez, things were still very difficult, even though he has a fever(39°C), he still wanted to drive and secure his position, while Daniel Reckward had some small problems getting the right pace and speed, but we are working on this.
Still unfortunate is Linus Thern who in the first round made too many mistakes and in the second round his throttle servo failed, further investigation revealed that the cable of the servo was sectioned by the battery moving to much in the radio compartment.

Friday Qualification 5-6.
Action...

After some minor adjustments to the head of Guillaume VRAY he got things together and making the TQ of the 6th and last round.
Matthias Reckward has a sceptical look here don't you think...

The final results after 6 rounds, congratulations to Mark PAVIDIS(USA).

Yannick had a good start in round 6 but pushed too hard and made 3 mistakes.

Well the last to rounds are finished and we have seen the track getting worse and worse, this is good for some drivers and bad for others so the performances which needed to be made in the first round are now not and issue anymore since now no mistakes are better then being fast.
For Yannick round 5 was a doubtful one where after the first mistake he changed his driving style to be more sure and so lost some time but he cannot make anymore mistakes otherwise he will find himself in the lower finals. In round 6 he started of very fast but made 3 mistakes which costed a lot of time, he however made the fastest laptimes overall.
For Guillaume in round 5 there were too much mistakes and his mind needed to be adjusted(see picture above) and it has proven to be the right adjustment since has made TQ in round 6...
Daniel Reckward had a very twitchy car in round 5 and made also some mistakes while in round 6 he was leading his race and in his last lap he made 3 mistakes!, this lap never seemed to end.
Linus Thern was too careful in round 5 but when he tried to push his car to the limit in round 6 it was too difficult with the track very destroyed now.

Well, what can we say, another World Championship has passed into the records, 3 RB Concept engines in the final and after 3/4 of the race comfortable in the lead, disaster struck for Yannick, he made a small error at the triple and his car landed sideways blocking the exhaust stinger and the engine stopped. The time the car got back into the pits, got started and out again he was in 4th position. Yannick started to try and working his was back up again taking lots of risks and making big jumps, after some time he was in the wheels of Guillaume but another flame-out happened on the left side of the circuit probably a stone or something else..., this made disappear all chances for a good result.
Guillaume Vray, made a lot of small mistakes and was not as comfortable as in the semi final, still he managed to finish on a solid 3rd place. As for Linus Thern, he was simply too tired to keep the pace on a secure level and made too many small he still made a deserved 5th place.

Epilog
Fantastic organisation, great people, hospitality and much more to add to this unforgetable event. Even though we have passed closely to our 4th title we are still very satisfied with the overall results and relaiability of our RB Concept engines. Probably some will say it is the fault of the engine Yannick did not win this race and this is of course true but it is a part of racing and we are not hiding from the truth. We will try and understand what has gone wrong and so this will not happen anymore. Still I would like to point to the fact that during the whole day on sunday, not 1 RB engine has stalled out on us, this is why this incident is even more hard to overcome.
With this I would like to thank all the participants using our engines and related products and thank them for their support, we will try again in 2 years with the next World Championships.
