QUALIFICATIONS: The
qualifications started on friday afternoon and finished saturday
afternoon, 4 rounds of 5 minutes had to be raced to get a chance into
the final.
After 4 rounds we find 4 RB Concept engines in the top 20
were 2 of them in the top ten. Mikael Fransson(Vector/RB
Concept C3 "Worlds 97"/Concept Fuel) finished 8th
overall 0.16 sec. in front of Rody Roem(Vector/RB
Concept C3 "Worlds 97"/Concept Fuel).
Pole-position
was made by Oliver Mack in its first round and second position came to
Michael Salven who made his result in the second Round, 3rd we find
Alberto Picco and 4th Lamberto Collari. |

| After all the sub-finals and semi-finals
have been run we find 1 RB Concept engine in the main-final. Rody Roem
had not made it into the final because he was knocked off the track by
an Italian competitor damaging the car. |

MAIN-FINAL: 45 minutes.
After the
start Michael Salven leads followed by Alberto Picco and Lamberto
Collari.
Mikael Fransson found himself in the middle of the pack
having some troubles with the handling of his car because of the fresh
tires. A tire-change was planned at the 20 minute mark and fuelstops of
5.30 were no problem while others had to refuel at 5 minutes, if not
4.30
His car improved but not enough to move forward into the field,
after the tirechange things became even worse and some excursions
outside the track were made. Mikael finished 7th overal which is still a
very good result looking at the high level of racing. |
