It was a good dry sunny race day; today we total 39 buggy drivers and 7 truggy drivers. We run total 3 rounds of 7 min heats.
It was Glenn and Ah M who clocked very fast initial qualifying times, both did 8 laps in 7mins flat with only 1/200sec separating them.
In the round of heats, Sam, Joe and Ah M managed to make some 9 lappers with Ah M making TQ with a 9 lap 7:38. At this time, all drivers have qualified into their respective mains and the mains started with the truggy event.
D main began and quick into the lead was local RB driver Adrian Wong who tore a good lead and ended up the eventual winner for the D main.
In the C main expatriate young talent Jonathan Lane put his RB powered HNX1CR in a good fight during the 15min race and finished on the podium in 3rd.
The A main saw 10 local favourites battling it out in the 45 min final. Quick into the lead were Ah M and Glenn, keeping lines tight they were exchanging leads and had only fractions of a second between them. Being very careful, they lost a little pace that allowed Sam to close up very rapidly. Wenyi was closing up really quick too, and managed to grab the lead from Sam only to suffer a engine cut due to missing a fuel stop which left lucky Sam to win the A main with a one lap advantage. |
