    INTRODUCTION

Bergerac is in the middle of one of the nicest and well known for its welcome area in France. High class wine, typical tasty French food, and happy faces drives the racers happy to enjoy the event. The French staff from EFRA (JL Retornaz) and French president (Maurice Favre) were on the race track to manage the racing side of the event when Michel Lafaye was welcoming drivers. This event should be shown as an example to international event organisers.

    QUALIFYING

From the very first rounds, Lee Martin, Daren Bloomfield and Martin Bayer shows that they have a first class level and for sure the winner will be one of these 3 drivers. These 32 top drivers were fast without pushing and were helped by some of the best top drivers of the world (Lee was managed by Craig Dresher, Darren helped by David Spashett, and Yannick Aigoin was helping his team mate Martin). The track was dusty in the morning, and most of the RB drivers switched to 6mm ventury to get smooth power. After a couple of rounds, the track was cleaner and more grippy and racers needed to modify setup and tyres compound. Lee Marin was the fastest and gets an easy TQ with Martin Bayer coming back to the second spot in the last round. In the RB team, Cédric Roulleau was using a WS7 L2G when Costas Agrafiotis was powered by a C6BB L2G. For his first race with the RB power, Costas was qualified directly in the semi.

    THE RACE

From the first lap, Lee and Darren took an easy lead when Martin was fighting around the 5th place with Costas incredibly fast during the first 5 minutes. Darren took the lead, but had some troubles after the first refuelling and lost a couple of laps. The big fighting was the between French young driver Romain Sorret, Italian Federico Ruggieri and Jean Marc Lacheze. These guys were fighting for the second spot until Darren coming back from the 10th position overtook them in the last five minutes. Romain shows that, despite being young, he can drive under pressure and finished 3rd.

    CONCLUSION

This was a very nice event with a lot of drivers coming from the whole Europe : we had friendship races and this was also the opportunity to meet RB drivers and share with them our experience. The next big event is the Euro A in Creta.
