INTRODUCTION

This weekend was the start of the '09 National Championship. The meeting was held at Frankley, on an astro turf surface. After Elliott won the warm-up meeting the week before, we were hoping for another good result.
Luckely the weather was dry, which made the track stay consistant.
Elliott qualified 3rd overall, being very consistant through the three rounds of qualifing, scoring two thrid places, and one forth.

THE RACE

Elliott showed great strength in the A, not dropping below forth place, leading for the last 12 laps, and leading for 18 laps of the final, to win his first ever National race.

His RB B9 was adjusted during qualifying to make sure the 10 minute stop was reliable, a little rich in the first round, but ran great through qualifying.

Elliott gained on his opposition by doing 10 minutes stops, and was able to back off on the last 2 laps to make sure of the Victory. He is running the new exhaust gas cooler, to help in the fuel consumption.
