Should the 523 be fairly tight after break in still?

I have finished break in and in my first race with the new engine I was involved in a pile up where my air filter came off. Some dirt was sucked in and I have noticed there is not much compression at all when turning the flywheel.

I pulled the engine apart and cleaned it with WD40 but should I also replace the Piston/Liner?

If so which part number do I use? are they sold together as a Piston/Conrod/Sleeve package?

If you engine is still working fine after the incident of loosing the air-filter, then do not change anything. If however the idle has become irratic then this can be related to the loss of compression, if this is the case, we suggest you change the piston/liner and also the conrod.
Piston/Liner part#01901-523150
Conrod part#01901-323145

The idle is fine, I was having some trouble getting the tune right at WOT but changed to a higher blend of nitro and it seems to be ok now.

No luck with the engine, I tried to race with it this week but could not finish a race. Kept on stalling. I definatley need a new piston and liner. Where is the cheapest place to get them?

The only place I have seen online was A-Main hobbies, $118 for the piston/liner and $36 for the conrod. I could almost buy a whole new engine for that price!
