I placed some orders for gaskets and glow plugs and I ordered all RB stuff but when I got my shipment it was Novarossi brands. I called the store and they said that RB and Novarossi use the same manufacture but just put their own name on the product.
As far as the gaskets the store told me that RB orange gaskets are not as good any more since they switched manufactures and they have been getting many returns. They said this is why they sent me the Novarossi stuff since its hold up better.
I dont want to leak the name of the store but it is a Distributor for RB and has come recommended to me by Rody and others.
I just want to know if those Glow plugs are the same as the RB that I thought I was getting and if the gaskets will work the same as well?
On their web site they even list REX glow plugs as Novarossi plugs. My tires that are Proline Bowties even came in MSR packaging so they told me they just know all the deals and go straight to the actual manufacture to lower cost. Seems cool to me but I want to be sure what I got will work.
The more important parts like a back plate and O-rings that I ordered are all RB stuff so I was happy for that. I just wish I would know this what they do instead of getting a box of stuff they say is the same and works better.

I really wanted all RB products but if these work I will keep them. Rody please tell me if I should send them back for a refund or use them. I was a little taken back about all 5 plugs I ordered coming in a baggy as well. They werent even packaged.

Not all our glowplugs are the same as the one's from Novarossi, we also use other suppliers nowadays because of supply and pricing. Therefor it is very dangerous from a shop to make these kind of statements. The same for the gaskets.
We try and maintain the quality of our products as high as possible.
You can always try and use these products but if problems are arriving to your engine it will be longer to find what this could be.

I am going to send them back for a reund. I really wish I would have received a call before they took it upon themselves to just send out what they consider the "same thing". I am not happy about this.
I will wait for stock to build up and then buy the RB stuff.

Ahh well I talked to some others and they say that the #6 from Novarossi are the same plug as RB but I finally found a place today that got enw stock of the RB plugs and I bought them. I will compare the 2 when I get the RB's in the mail.
I want to stay loyal to RB but it seems that from 2 very good sources that these plugs are the same or atleast work very well with no noticable differences. If I have the option to RB products I will choose them but I like to know a clear cut answer to other options when RB is out of stock.
As for the gaskets I have found that others had an issue with them not holding up as well as the Novarossi blue ones but I will have to see for myself.

Ahh I just got my genuine plugs from RB and compared them to the so called equal plug from Novarassi and I am returning these.
They arent even shaped the same and the threads arent the same. I dont mean the pitch of the thread but the Nova plugs have more threads and a different shaped end to them.
The gaskets are identical so I will keep them but the plugs are goin back.

They are turbo and #6 but the shape of them is different and I would just rather have what I ordered which are the RB plugs.
I called the store who sent them to me and they were very cool and said keep them and they will send out the RB stuff that I originally ordered.
I may clean the shavings off one plug and try them but I will have to look at the threads better to see if they match.

Hey Rody when do you use the #7 plug ove rthe #6?
I read the link to the web site and my understanding is that when its real hot outside you use the #7 if needed.
What would be the reason for this? Is it to keep temps down on the engine?
I bought 10 #6 plugs so I hope they work because I thought that was the general plug for the 523.

When it is hotter outside you can use a colder glowplug for which the wire is a little thicker and so a little stronger. The #6 glowplugs are O.K. for the TM523 engine, what I mentionned above is done at high competition level just to avoid any chance of failure of the glowplug which then can make you loose the race.
