Hi everone. Long time reader, first post.

I currently have an RB 523 engine in my
Revo and even after extensive tuning I
STILL have the dreaded left turn bog.
It's terribly frustrating because I LOVE
this engine, it just flat out rips!! Even
runs right past my buddies 4.6 Savage.
But no matter what I have tried, I still
get this darn bog!! [Frown] I currently have:
Tekno RX relocation kit with a HPI Hellfire
tank, 14 or so inches of tank pressure line
and the single stage pipe that came with my
engine. I don't mind the fact that I might
have to buy the two stage pipe but man, is
it going to fix it?!?!? I have seen mulitple
people with my SAME problem and they found
that the Hellfire tank was the fix. Then again,
I have also heard of many people not having
this problem at all. What gives?? I've got
a TON of money into this thing and it is really
buming me out at this point. Near ready to
sell... [Frown] PLEASE HELP!

Thank you,
Hopeless Revo owner in Michigan...... [Big Grin]

There are indeed many people who do not have any problem with the TM323 or TM523 but some do. We always do our best to give suggestions for solutiuons but cannot do more.

Impossible in this case to come up with a 100% solution because when we developped the TM323 this problem was unknown and after when we worked on the TM523 we have simulated this and also run into the same problem. To get rid of the bog while turning left is to put the tank in front of the engine. This is unfortunately not really possible in the REVO without heavy modifications.

Now some seem to have found another suitable solution and is mentionned in some topics in our forum(there is where this forum is for) however there is no 100% guarentee that these possible solutions will solve your problem.

I guess I just cannot fathum how some people
can have this problem and some do not. It
really stinks because I love this engine.
But, if I cannot find a way to get rid of
this left hand bog problem, I will have to
off the truck. Just drives me crazy because
I cannot race it at my local track this way
(mainly left hand turns).

Really, how can some have the problem, and some
do not??

I have no problems with my tm523 but i have the tekno tank mod and a 250cc tank.

I am convinsed that the problem is the stock tank.

Depending on how long fuel line and how you routed it the problem will become better or worse.

But you will never fix it compleatley with the stock setup.

I would recomend getting the tekno tank mod and a HPI hellfire tank. I am a little disepointed with the 250cc tank and would not buy it again.

I installed the 523 and had the problem but purchase the tekno upgrade using the hellfire tank and got rid of the problem. My fuel line going to the Carb is 10 inches and my line going to the exhaust is 7 inches. I've heard the Mugen tank is better than the hellfire tank.

but did you add or take away any fuel line at all? some people added more fuel line from the ppe to the tank and from the tank to the carb...longer lines then factory...read some of the other post...and try that...fuel line is cheap if it doesnt work anyways.

I dont have the TM523 yet but I do have the Tekno and mugen tank mod with 3 ft of fuel line. I have read about this on various engines and or the leaning issue as fuel drops in the tank but with the extra fuel line I added I have no more issues. I cant see why the RB engine would be the cause of this.
Is it in some way mounted differently or sit higher then normal?

I have tried various lengths of fuel feed and
pressure line. I used to run an inline fuel
filter but took it out because I was afraid
that it was my restriction.

For us the tuning problems in the REVO are not related to the engine or its carburetor, but more to the position of the fuel-tank in the car, so there is nothing much more we can do to the engine itself to solve this problem.

I've read that the addition of a fuel filter, but with the filter element taken out, will help stop this issue (and half tank lean issue). I think the theory is that the fuel filter will act as a (very small) tank storing enough fuel to feed the carb.

Does this sound sensible?

Yes, this is possible but it will not take away the fact that in the REVO with the tank sitting in the right side of the engine, and when you turn left the engine needs to suck very hard to get its fuel while when turning right the fuel will be pushed to the engine.
