So ive got the tm323 installed temporarily till i get a new clutch bell and spur, aswell as new clutchbell bearings. I was swapping over parts the other day and had this problem which is wierd. i installed the flywheel and i first noticed it sit out further than on the 2.5r. then i installed the clutch shoes and the bell, the bell rubs on the flywheel now. put the whole works back onto the 2.5r and it doesnt rub?? ok now im thinking the crankshaft is machined wrong? wierd as ive tryed using the 2.5r collet and same problem. it is all good on the 2.5r but the rb it rubs no matter what. i thought maybe it could be the bearings in the bell but it wont rub on the 2.5r. any help or experiences would be a major help as id like to break this thing in as soon as the good weather comes.the only way it will work is if the fiber washer is under the clutch bell.

does the clutch nut go on properly? did your new engine come with a clutch nut?

the flywheel goes on allright but i think the collar is to big cause it is easy to remove the flywheel once it is torqued and removed. almost the wrong taper. i think im going to use the original traxxas collet and gring it down a wee bit to put the flywheel closer to the front bearing. no it didnt come with a new clutch nut

I suggest you try indeed with the original collar. As for the threads, even if there are less it does not make any difference for the position of the flywheel.

If you still have problems, please ask your LHS from who you have purchased the engine from and ask them for assistance.
