I've just purchased a brand new revo and a 323 and I cannot get it to run correctly.
The engine strait out the box and has default settings.
It starts first time with the ez-starter and idles nicely but then only run for 5-6 seconds. If I keep the Ez-start in and press the button briefly as its about to die it will run for another 5-6 seconds then die again. I have run about a tank and half with it stopping and starting.
The fuel tank/line seems ok the although it is hardish to prime. I have to put my finger over the exhaust to get it to come through.
Its not sticking at TDC.
I wanted to check the defaults were actually at default but on the website there isn’t a .23 check sheet. What are they?

6 LSN 5 HSN .5 to .8 mm (.02-.03") slider gap for idle
These values are on the back of the guide that came with your RB.
Additionally, I'd advise you to use a glow plug igniter. The EZ start doesn't provide enough power to properly heat the glow plug. YOu can still use the EZ start to turn over the engine. Two more importatnt things that will make your RB break-in experience a little easier: use Odonnel's 20% and use RB glow plugs.

Still having a few problems and have a few questions.
1)Does the glow plug do anthing after you have started the truck? I thought that it just helped get combustion to get it started but after that its not used?
2)Anyone know where I can get RB Glow plugs online in the uk?
3)Is the LSN the idle/air or the needle in the slide?
Im getting myself confused as everyone calls themn different names

1) The wire of the glowplug needs to be heated up first to start the combustion, once the engine is running the combustions and internal heat will keep the wire at the right temperature and so the engine keeps on running.
2) Please contact our distributor in your country for this.
3) LSN means Low Speed Needle, this needle adjusts the fuel-flow when the slide is in the closed position. the idle/air is the screw you use to adjust the airgap when the carburetor is closed.
Thanks thats helped me to understand. The car is at default settings.
I've replaced the plug and I still cant get it to run. I use a glow starter and it will start and idle nicely, but when remove the glow starter the engine dies immediately.

If it stalls once the glow plug igniter is removed that means its too rich lean it out a little also once it is done replace plug with either of these plugs odonnell 0990, O.S.A5 plug a mccoy plug either 8 or 9 thats what i have been using in mine i learned the glow igniter trick from rc car action mag and they know what there talking about for sure hope this helps let us know also check and make sure your carb slide has the proper gap

When you remove the glow ignitor and it immediately stalls...that should tell you the glow plug you are using is not staying lit. What plug are you using? Get a "hotter" plug than the one you are currently using. I have been using MC-59's and haven't had any problems. If your LHS carries them, give 'em a try. If not then use the RB #1055-6 plug. There is a big price difference so you decide.
Re-read "revoman323's" post about HSN tuning and you should get that powerful engine running.
