Hello all,
I just finished running in my TM323 on my Revo and the thing is just insanely fast and since I'm not a very disciplined driver Revo it's spending a lot of time on its back. To help this I went to a 16/36 gear ratio, which should make the truck faster, and because I don't have access to a radar gun I'm looking into a Venom Racing Speed Meter for my revo and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with a similar set up? how fast will an RB TM323 powered Revo go with the 16/36 gearing? Has anyone used a VSM on an RB powered Revo?

I have that same gearing and the truck goes around 55mph, but you also have to remember the the size of tires also matters due to the gear ratio.

Thanks MLeMay23,I had figured It would be around the 55 MPH mark. One thing have you had gear mesh issues with the that gearing? I read something on a different thread that this gearing causes mesh issues.

no there hasn't been any gear mesh problems, the one problem i did have though is that i didnt have the engine back enough so the spur gear tore up the slipper clutch, i dont think that really had anything to do with this gearing though, but once i adjusted it correctly it was fine. but niether me or my buddy(who has the same setup) have had any mesh problems. it still ends up having enough torque to lift the front end just slightly. the best part is cornering on asphault its starts 3-wheelin, pretty cool!!

Thanks for the info. I just got my truck set up with the 16/36 gearing and the Venom VSM and will post speeds as soon as the weather permits.

As promised here are some speed readings from the Venom VSM of my RB TM323 powered Revo:
* With the 16/36 gearing: 51.7 MPH
* With the 18/35 (grom 3racing): 58.7 MPH
I made repeated runs and even with the 18/35 gearing the truck has explosive off the line speed and never went past 235F. This engine rocks!!! [Big Grin] [Big Grin] [Big Grin]
