I am haveing an intermittent problem with my 323. It still isnt completely dialed in yet and it dies on me from time to time. But the problem is when i go to retart it I have to plug up the exhaust to get fuel back to it before it will start again. I just dont see why this would do this after only quiting no more than a minute before. I also think one of the reasons it is dying is because it is not getting enough fuel, almost like there is not enough pressure from the exhaust to the tank. I changed out the fuel lines and that seemed to help a little but it still does it.

I had the same problem.... I did two things and one of them fixed it. First I disassembled the engine making sure that all the washers for the carb and the backplate seemed to be ok. I also checked the O-ring gasket on my gas tank... it was no longer sealing the way it should. When you pull up the tank lid it should pop like there was suction holding it down. I replaced the O-ring on the tank and now the motor runs perfectly, and is very easy to tune and keep in tune.
