I am having a hard time getting my RB .23 to fit in a Traxxas T-maxx... The problem is the carb, when the throttle is wide open, it is hitting the nut on the spur gear... And I can't move the carb as the screw that holds the carb in place won't loosen it...

Indeed the space around that area is very small.
To be able to turn the carburetor, first unscrew the carburetor screw 2 turns, then push or gently hit the head of the screw so it comes loose. Once this is done you should be able to turn the carburetor.
