can the high temp differ depending upon the altitude? mine is still 5 turns out and is hangin around the 240-250F mark. i only have about 6-7 tanks through it and i am at about 6000 feet above sea level.

Rody is 230F a hard limit? The reason I ask is that while running in my newly purchased TM323 the temperature has gone as high as 245f. I'm using the Traxxas break in method per the instructions received with the engine. I'm concerned the temp is so high when the engine is not even broken in. Should I be concerned about this?

It is always recommended to try and not exceed this temperature, however it all depends how it is measured and if this is the real temperature!

We notived quite some differences with the devices used...

What is most important is that you always see smoke coming from the stinger and that the power of the engine is not decreasing while the temperature of the engine is rising.

Hope this has helped you further.

Thanks Rody. I use a Raytek infrared temp gun and take my reading from the glow plug. The engine smoke is quite good and although I have not finished tunning fully breakin in / tunning the engine the power is just unbelievable. Race on.
