I use to use the stock Mugen filter that came with my buggy kit and then used the Motor Saver dual layered filter. I then spoke with someone who told me to quit using those and use the RB dual layered buggy air filter. At first I wwas thinking a filter is a filter.
Let me tell you, they are not. I used to notice on the previous filters that I would still get some small bits of grime in the connector and would have to clean it out. With the RB buggy filter I don't find any dirt getting through to the connector. Which is good cause then it is not getting to the engine.
I suggest if you want to keep the dirt out, try the RB buggy filter.

I use the Rb filter as well. Great results thus far! Just make sure you glue the orange base to the aluminum tube!! Air filter oil is different than any I've ever seen. I think that has something to do with it, as well as foam composition. I also like the wide recesses in the elbo for use with "big" zipties. The filter matches the engine, very well, it also fits in my buggy witout rubbing like the old "Motor Saver"

I bought the RB filter as well per RC517's advice. I too had a motor saver dual air filter on before but the RB filter lets nothing through. I also had grime and specks in mine with the motor saver filter ( and it was installed right udi )

I think it has to do with the way the motor saver is made. The inner foam just sits downs in and there is room for stuff to get pulled in at the bottom edge of the foam.
The RB filter has a lip at the top and bottom of the inner foam to prevent this.

Yeah fair enough. I've never had dirt in there ever before, except once when I was on the (dirt)track with no body and kept rolling over... I was running the OS buggy filter which has really small "lips" for the foam which was probably the problem. (and the fact I had no body) Never tried a motor saver one, i'll make sure I never do now lol.
But the Kyosho one seems good. Big lips to hold the inner foam, and the outer foam just slides over it. Im happy with it.
If i ever get another i'll try out the RB though since you guys say its so good
