i have the pullstart tm728. what do i need to do to run a roto starter? can i use the stock backplate and the stock rod with the hex that goes into the engine and just buy a hpi roto starter to go onto the current backplate? or do i have to buy the roto starter backplate for the 728 and then put the hpi starter on that backplate?

actually after some research online i figured out what i need. 1 hpi s21 or s25 roto starter kit with the starter and the backplate $47.99 usd and also the tm728/tm928 roto adapter backplate for the engine 57.99 usd. so basically what i'm looking at is around $100 usd. heres a question. since you guys updated the 728 and no longer offer it with a pull starter is it possible to send you my pullstarter backplate for a trade for a roto starter back plate for my engine?

alright i think i found a cheaper way. i was looking at the tiger drive system. looks like all i have to do is by the tiger drive and the shaft. it should work with my pull start 728 correct? with the hpi roto start i would need the roto start back plate for my engine ontop of the hpi roto starter back plate. so what i am asking, i dont need to buy the optional roto start adapter back plate for my engine to use the tiger drive?

I am not sure that what you are trying to do is possible. In general you cannot interchange parts in between different brands. It might look the same on a picture but it is possible it does not fit.
