i have a tm728. i was doing alittle reserch on engines during break in. i found that a few people are recomending i change the con rod after break in or right around a gallon of fuel. then after break in im good to go about another 2 gallons. is this correct. also if i chose to replace the con rod, does the new rod come with the piston retainer springs? or do i need to buy those seperatly? also where do i find this con rod at? i searched on e-bay and also tried to google it. no luck. i had one site, but was in europe i think. also what do you guys think of ab mods. a few of my buddies suggested i should send my 728 to adam at ab modds to have a stage 1 done. anyone have any ideas about this? also doesnt rody mod engines? if so how do i go about getting him to mod my rb? thanks for any in put guys

The rod comes without the springs and indeed should be changed all 2 gals even if it still looks okay just to be at the very save side. I change the rod all 15L (4 gals, I also ran one wrist pin for 80L but that was maybe more luck than anything else [Wink] ) if there's "no" play. Also I run them in races. But in general you can say the harder you run it the higher is the stress on the parts and the higher is the possibility of an earlier sudden damage in case of no maintenance or part changes.

ok thanks for the quick reply.one more question though. which nova connecting rod is compatable with the tm728. im having a very hard time finding the rod in the states. i found nitro house, they can get only nova rods in stock. so is there a nova rod i can use inplace of the rb rod?

Just to correct me ... it was "just" the wrist pin that I ran for 80L, not the rod! Of course, also the wrist pin needs to be changed time by time.

Yes, you could change the pin every 2 rods and yes all spare-parts are sold separately.
