Unfortunately...after installing my engine in my truck..I noticed that the carb is tweaked...the carb piston binds it the carb body...I first took my idle screw all the way out...nope...then I took the insert out...nope...then I took the LSN all the way out....nope....I took the entire carb out and pulled it completely apart...the carb body or piston must be warped...because I cannot visibly see why it's binding...

So I just stuck another carb from a different engine(Sure Fire.32) that I had and commenced with run-in... [Embarrassed]

after searching and searching...I still cannot find a distributor that carries the carb...I can find conrods, pistons, and sleeves...etc..etc....but noone seems to carry the carb.......please help...

on a happier note...the engine cranked up like a dream...it sat and idled like a champ...it had good smoke and it quickly got to 207f and stayed there throughout an entire 220cc tank...I have never seen an engine hold that steady of a temp... [Eek!]

in case you're curious..this is the carb I had to use...

Check out the following page for the shops who carry our products in the USA.

http://www.rbproducts.com/USA

If you carb was binding after just purchasing the engine then you just needed to contact your LHS from who you have purchased the engine from and ask them for assistance.
Also the LHS who is able to sell you the engine should also be able to sell you the spare-parts.

Thank you Rody...

Unfortunately...after Hurricane Katrina hit my area...there are no longer any LHS that carry RB products...as well as LHS in general...so i resorted to the internet...and the site I bought it from(amain) does not list the carb..I found the nova carb that looks very similar... http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/products_id/4776 but I question it because my Novarossi 528 XR's carb does not have the cooling fins on the bowl...

There is one LHS that use to carry RB...and I will see if they can get me set up..

again thank you for the link...

also...I noticed that the bumpstart backplate and the rotostart conversion backplate have different scoring...why?...and will it effect anything?

Thanks again Rody...I checked with a HS on that list just today...and they are looking into it...

the other question...I think I have an idea..it's built for both the 728 and 928 engines...but..

this is the bumpstart backplate that came with the motor...
 -

and this is the part I replaced it with

 -

the grooves at the top seem to be very different of each other...but I imagine that is only because that it needs to fit the 728 as well...

On the bumpstart backplate we can optimse more the engine because you do not have to carry the extra weight and friction of the rotostart compatible backplate.

This is why we have not made these extra working on the rotostart compatible backplate.

Thank you...

I hated to put it on after feeling the weight difference in my hands alone...but..a bumpstart will not work with the truck I'm putting it into(LST2) So this is my best option...and truthfully I'm been very satisfied with this setup...I can only imagine the power without the added weight...

thanks again...
