Hello fellow rc enthusiasts,
I wanted to buy a new in-line pipe system for my supermaxx with RB .28 motor (TM728).

But then my LHS told me, that the RB distributor in Germany doesnt carry those 086 pipes any longer, because the design is way to old. You are even no longer allowed to drive those pipes at the german racings, because they are two loud, because they are 2 chamber pipes, and modern pipes are all 3 chamber pipes.

So I told him, I dont care, I just want the characteristics of the 086 pipe as they are stated on the RB website.
Torque : ****
Top-Speed : ****
Fuel Consumption : **

I now ask you:

1) What about those rumors? Is the 086 outdated?
2) Are there modern pipes which are better in performance (I dont care how loud...)
3) On the RB site they actually dont recommend the 086 with the TM728 but this one:

#01900-401
Torque : **
Top-Speed : ***
Fuel Consumption : **
Pipe Length : 145-155mm

How come?

Many thanks for your help, I really appreciate your input.

Metal

1) For us the 086 is not outdated, we still sell quite a lot to other countries where they can use this pipe.
2) Beside the 086 you could try the 01900-401 which we find very good on the TM728

thanks for this straight answer! I will get the 068 for my 3.5 motor and the 401 for my tm728.

One more question:
1) Why is the pipe length for the 01900-401 so much longer then the 086 pipe length:

145-155mm 01900
115-125mm 086

this doesnt look as if they were just interchangeable ?(QUOTE: "Beside the 086 you could try the 01900-401")

2) Is there an inline system for the 01900 pipe?

Thanks again
Florian

The length mentionned is not the real length of the pipe but more the length where it works the best. The way how this is measured can be found here

The overal length is about the same.

No, there is no in-line version of this pipe.
