I've endlessly searched for an answer as to why my RB 728 runs hotter than others (295 - 335 range), and as such I've been performing various checks for air leaks, settings, drivetrain, exhaust system, glow plug type, compression, etc.
EVERYTHING CHECKS OUT -- still great performance and a steady trail of smoke, with the HSN at -1/4 turn from factory setting.
Now I'm wondering if the reason I have a steady trail of smoke may be due to the fact that I'm using Monster Horsepower (12% oil content). This may be compensating for slightly lean conditions and giving me a false impression of balanced setting since the smoke trail is visible.
Would it help to get the proper tune if I used instead an 8% oil content -- such as Platinum?
I'm truly stumped and don't know what else to do. On top of it all I'm faced with a LHS owner who shows zero interest in servicing clients and clearly has no valuable advise -- he sure was quick to suggest the most expensive engine in his store, however...

I would not change the oil content to a lower one, if your engine works well and you have a steady smoke trial and the power output of the engine is constant, then I have no clue why your temps are so high, it would be the device you are using then is not calibrated or you do not measure in the right way.
