I bought the TM728 to use in my Tamiya Terra Crusher and modded my new era models chassis and Hpi Savage mount to fit the engine (i filed the inside of the engine mount so the engine fits nicely. Is this ok or should it be clamped between the mount?) The second question i have is if it is really neccesarrily to use RB fuel or could i also go with Tornado? (The oil plus or regular) As my LHS can get RB fuel but they don't stock it so that means i have to wait for my fuel. And what nitro percentage do you recommend, i read in the instructions that i can use up to 25% without adding head shims but what is a good % for fun driving? An other question i had is about these white rings that come with the engine, at my lhs they told it is for the pull starter but they didn't knew if these were spares and the engine already has them. And what do you recommend as an air filter and can i use my HPI ribbed pipe for running in until i get my RB pipe?

i never had a issu ewith the modded savage mount.. do not want it squeezing the engine either as it will distort the block.. so you did good there..

25% nitro fuel should be O.K. to play with.

The white rings are there to center better the pullstart winder(where the rope is winded) and stop it from getting across inside its box.
Just check inside your pullstarter to see if they are present. Lateron a modification will be made on the pullstarter so these rings are not needed anymore.

Use the double foam airfilters, the same we use for the buggy engines.

Yes, you can always try the original pipe but cannot tell you what power the engine will produce with this pipe.

ok, i bought an double foam air filter and i took the engine to the lhs so they could put the rings in, i also asked which fuel would be good and they said i could use up to 25% but they only have it in competition version so i took the 20% Tornado Monster truck fuel as that includes some extra oil. I am going to start the break in tomorrow and use my old pipe until i get an RB TM 01
