Hi Rody, is it possible to modify the TM728 to run without the pull starter ? if so what are the parts that I would need ?

Yes, this is possible however you need good tooling and craftmenship to do this.

You need to cut a part of the big-end of the crankshaft to allow the normal backplate(#01900-120) to take place.

You could also use the bi-turbo crankshaft(#01900-071) of the TM928 and its backplate(#01900-120) but it would be rather expensive. Better then to have a TM928 with all the power that comes with it.

Well Rody, I got another TM728 and the backplate and did the modification and it works great!
Only problem is the bump starter has a problem turning over the TM too much compression for it, have to warm the motor up with a blow dryer before then it works. I've put this in a modified hpi rs4 t runs but that little fuel tank goes very quickly! but the car is amazing when it runs!!
Thanks for the advise Rody

The starting should improve once the engine is run-in completely.
Enjoy.
