My TM728 is having a heat problem, I have tried resetting the needles to default but have the same problem, this setting seems too rich and the engine bogs, but leaning so that it will run without boging causes it to jump to 280 it will run there for a while then it will die. I am using 15 tooth clutchbell, and a ths8020 pipe the engine is in a savage

the ths pipe makes it overheat.. this was a experiment on savage-central when it first came out, i suggest the rb 063 pipe.. but be very carefull if you have the LSN too rich, you will lean the HSN to compensate for it and that also makes it overheat...

also what clutch shoes you using? the stock savage ones has enough slip in them to make the cb overheat and raise engine temps.

depending on the pipe, tsais made their original version, i like that one, it has a seam in the middle of it, but the new versions with out the seam cause overheating...

i cannot say its a "perfect" pipe, but i had no issues with it on the rb 28, i had more of a issue with clutch slipping at that point causing overheating.. but i did get the 063 pipe, and it is better then the tsais pro (original)..

if you have the seamless one, dont do it.. still will overheat..

i also got the newera tight fit header, much nicer then the stock header, fits the buggy style exhaust gasket the engine comes with.. by the way you will need to use the stock hpi gasket to use the hpi header else it leaks..

I have recently installed the 086 pipe on my savage and found that it works quite well with the 28. The time to rev and top end was improved along with the fuel economy.

I had ran the 063 and found that it has a broader power delivery as compared to the 086.

I have seen others post on different forums about the THS pipes making there RB-28's run hot.

which manifold did you use mydixie ? so I'd be good temerature wise with either the 086 or the 063 then but the 063 gives a broader power band

reecek,, I used the stock HPI manifold for the savage and then the HPI ehaust gasket installed on the RB-28. Temperature wasent an issue with the 063 or the 086 as long as your tune is correct, so either of those would be good to use.
