take pullstarter off. remove Knot from handle. While holding tension on spool with your thumb,back the rope out of the hole on the pullstart. Now,wind an extra turn of tension on the spring. Put rope back thru hole on pullstart. Put the handle back on and tie a new doubleknot. Your finished. Congrats.
A pair of medical forcepts that lock are very handy for grabbing the line and holding while you tie the new knot.
