I broke the con-rod in my .26 and am wondering when the .28 race version will be out? If not to long i would rather get that orver the regular version.

Race version is in devellopement but you need to be patient because we are also working on a different starting system to be able to use this engine also with a pull/roto starter without loosing too much power.

sorry for all the questions. i just want to be sure. So are you saying the race version will be the same motor but just different pullstart and pipe?

why rotostart rody, there is nothing better than a starter box, those rotos are terrible. i used to be die hard pullstart guy until i got a starter box. only engine w/ a ps now is my c5 because its in my supermaxx.

roto start = savage.. thats the only reason a starter box cannot be used.. love the 28.. broke it in.. got her tuned all i can say is sick.. PS i love pull start..

In some cars the starterbox cannot reach the flywheel and so a different starting system has to be used and the rotostart beside the pullstart system is one of them.
Using an engine without pull or rotostart is preferred of course but in some cases it is just not possible.

maybe the associated setup would be better,,the hex drive has more surface to contact,,plus it is right onto the back of the crank,,versus the rotostart dogbone setup,,and the pullstart is integrated in the piece,,just an idea,,dont know if it wil fit into the savage,,its a ball drive so maybe?? maybe clearance issues though!! bought two of these motors,,cant wait to hear full chat!!

I'd like to see a roto/pullstart combo on this new engine like the one in the associated MGT. I'd buy it.

Why work on a new starting method for the TM728, Sullivan RC products is making a new backplate for the TM728 on their TigerDrive, which is a cool unit. Rody, why not use that?
I broke my original TM728 pull start, and the price ($35) for a new one is rediculous. Right now I run a starter box (XTM Mammoth you can ), believe me when I say that RB products should release a non-pull start backplate for the TM728 and the Race version for us as well Posts: 31 | Registered: Apr 2004

Scroll down and you see the RB C12 and RB TM728 would use backplate # 691 (nya). I emailed them, (nya) means "not yet available". They claimed they were hoping for release in July.

Winnie I obviously know the number as i first posted that information...the (nya) after the part number means NOT YET AVAILABLE. I emailed Sullivan June 29th and they said the release date would be in JULY, but not a set date yet!

Tiger drive must be used with great care !!!, in case of a flooded engine its easy to bend/break your conrod hence ruining your expensive engine...Peet.......
