Today I read on RedRC.net that in 2008 the EC "A" 1/8th onroad and the EFRA GP that belongs to it at Roeselar are cancelled due to noise problems. The funny thing is that there is a railway only 20m or 30m away! The organizing club said that they'll try to build a noise wall right in time. The city politicians said then that they have to see if this then would be enough! This story sounds even more stupid to me than the halt of the Norwegian electric series of all classes at official events until January 2008 due to 4200 cell "explosions" during charging at those events (3 out of 100+)! It seems that this EC issue goes to town court!
PS: If this is the wrong place for that post then I'm fine with its eventual removing.

Sometimes politics and racing do not match..., can you imagine they will need to close the ferrari test track in Fiorano, this one is almost in the middle of the city...:-)
Anyway, these kind of things are sometimes due to only a few complainers..., the only thing what I wonder in this case is why did they allow the construction of the track then in the first place because the track is not very old and upon that why do the politics do not take into consideration the efforts made by EFRA already to get the noise level down which will be applied at this event.

Yes, maybe Ferrari = politics in this region .
I guess this is just for the 1/8th because the 1/10th are a lot more silent for my feeling. Hopefully the court will appreciate the efforts on making that wall.
And it's nothing spoken yet ... maybe the EC will be at Roeselar, maybe anywhere else or even cancelled. But I can hardly imagine that there won't be an EC at all ... finally there should be enough time left to settle down that event anywhere else in case.
