Hello,

I ordered some short manifold springs and noticed that they have too less spring rate IMO. The older ones which came with my 1004 S7C had lots more spring rate and also didn't damaged the manifold's or engine's spring holes.

I think so because I was on track last weekend and didn't hit even one curb (closest thing was the white line between curb and track) but nevertheless I lost both springs. The only things I did in the end were some "highspeed-donats".

Is there a possibility to get back to the old ones? IMO they had the perfect spring rate.

You mean with this is that they do not have enough tension?
Also what is the part# of the springs you are speaking of?

I checked and the actual springs I have here have a good tension for me.

If you put too much tension on the manifold then the gasket breaks too easy and also the aluminum of the manifold can then touch the exhaust of the crankcase which is not good for me.

Yes, you're right. Probably this was an unlucky one-timer to me. I will try it again with thin fuel tubes around them. The friction coming from the tubes when the spring is working should beware it from working too much and act a bit like an absorber ... and beside they protect the case.

Thanks for your help!
