hi,
i have recently purchased a tm523 engine for my revo, and after starting it for the first time i walked past the transmitter which was placed on the stairs and accidently kicked it....

it went flying and landed pretty hard on the ground releasing all batteries, and yes when u lose signal, the car goes haywire..

the throttle opened up to full and my revo went painfully bashing around the yard until i caught it (30s) later and pinched the fuel lines to switch it off.

i was absolutely fuming at the time but went on with the break in procedure.

what aftermath am i stuck with here - i mean what possible permanent damage could i have done??

so very angry!

If you have a runnaway, then in general the rpm goes over its limits, if you have been able to stop the engine in time and the glowplug has not been damaged then you should be O.K., however it could be a good idea to disassemble the engine and check if everything is still O.K.

If you have a runaway and the engine is not completely run-in then you can encounter some seizing of the piston in the sleeve, I also suggest that after 1/2 a gallon you change the conrod, just to be sure.

sounds like a good idea, the glowplug wasnt harmed so not too much damage was done..

the car actually got stuck against the fence and didnt rev out too hard, but it was placed under stress.

i will however change the conrod, just in case.

would the piston and sleeve also have been damaged rody or is it just the conrod i should worry about?

If the piston looks clean all around, then all is O.K. and I would not worry too much. As you described the engine has not made a a lot of rpm so damage is limited or maybe even none.
