there are two main advices in carburetor setting tables that probably could be wrong. First one in any table I have seen yet is "The more oil, the leaner to set" which is definitive wrong as this would cause the engine to run lean. Second one is the humidity question. On this one opinions go different ways either to rich or to lean the engine at higher humidity. So what is correct? I need to lean the engines then too keep them running nice and still in the green temperature range. Do you also set the engine leaner or richer?
Thanks.

Normally the more oil the higher the viscosity of the fuel and so normally you need to opent more the main needle for the engine to get enough fuel.
IMO The higher the humidity the richer you need to set the engine. The humidity increases the internal combustion(untill a certain point of course...) and for this you need also more fuel to get this going.

I'll look for the tables again which I found on diferent RC sites.
OK then I'll give a richer setting a try again. That's not really surprising as I know that the FW 190 (WWII fighter) had methanole water injektion to increase hp from 1776 to 2240 for a short time.
So humidity increases the internal combustion because it's an "oxygen supplier"?
I'll keep you posted.

Do you mean that mainly the viscosity is the fact that requires a richer HSN and not the fact that with more oil also less burnable substance is in the fuel that also needs less air then? Otherwise the runtimes wouldn't be shorter on high oil blends if just the viscosity would be responsible IMO.
Thanks again Rody.

Viscosity will be the first factor for to need a richer setting, then it depends on the combustions capacities of this mixture what is available to close or open more after.
