I'm breaking in my fourth engine, a C6BBT7 at the moment. In the UK the temperature is pretty cold, so I've had trouble keeping heat in the engine while running it so rich. I'm following the guide from the instructions as far as technique, the initial idled tank ran at 190 degrees, but I've run the rest at 160-190 as I couldn;t get any more heat into the engine. Is this likelly to be an issue?
The motor seems to have loosened up nicelly and is really starting to sing, but I'm worried the cooler temps might hurt the longevity of the engine...

Indeed if the engine does not reach its right working temperature then the expansion of all the moving parts is not as it should be.
To reach the right working temperatures you could try and cover a part of the cooling-head so the engine temperatures will rise a little. Try not to reach the temperatures by leaning out the engine since the engine then has also less lubrification and so you can guess what this can do.

Say that you follow the break in instructions on the web site and you are on the first tank in the car at idle. I plan to heat it up first and wrap the head to try and get the temperature up enough. What can be done if that is not enough to keep the temperature up? I want to ask this ahead of time just in case because by the time you start it up and idle it for 1 minute or more and decide you don't know what to do to get it hotter I would not want to shut it down and have to start it again later when I get some advice since that would be a little hard on the engine. I want to worry about it now to be prepared! I know from reading some posts you would want to avoid raising the idle rpm or leaning the HSN a little but which is more acceptable or what do you do? At the first tank at idle the rpm it is normal that the engine does not get too hot, I would not worry too much about the Temperature, take care however that the rpm's do not go too high at the first tank.
At idle the HSN does not have a lot of effect, make the adjustment on the LSN in stead.
