I've dug around here and everything seems to lead to "tacky" air filter oil as the best thing to use. I bought 2 RB air filters over the summer off an E-Bay store (NIP). The filters came sealed with a small bottle of oil in each. When I ordered these I also asked the guy for an "extra" bottle of air filter oil. I used the smaller bottles that were in the sealed package with the air filters first and the oil was tacky and worked far better than anything I have tried here in the States. This is where my question comes in. That oil that came with the filters is now all used up. I grabbed the "extra" bottle the other day to use and it is very thin. Almost like a after run oil & not at all like the oil that was in the smaller bottles that came with the filters. For some strange reason I don't think what's in the bottle is the right stuff or I was scammed.
The left was the tacky stuff in the sealed package with filters clear in color.
The right is the "extra" bottle I asked for. It has no pt# , what you see on the label is it. This is red in color

Basically the oils we used in both bottles are the same, the difference is that in the left bottle the product is non diluated and non colored while in the right bottle we have diluated a little to oils so it is easyier to apply and colored it so you can see it has been applied all over in the foam.
It seems that the right bottle the oil is less sticky but once the alcohol we used to diluate the oil is evaporated the filtering result is the same as the left bottle.

Thinking of filter oils. I have raced dirt bikes my whole life and air filters and filter oil are what keep those bikes alive. Can I use the same oil on my C6 L2G?

Me too with motocross.Yes I have had great success using PJ1 foam filter oil spray ( I think thats the brand, can't find the can at the moment )I know it's red and in a big spray can though.I even use maxima castor 927 premix for my model engine fuel and that is awesome too. Most cycle products can be used from what I have learned, but don't forget to toss and not reuse your foams for your model car. They say no matter how well you clean the foam, there will allways be dirt still imbedded in there.

Be carefull with using these kind of oils, they must be compatible with the fuel we use in our nitro engines and also they should not be silicone based...
Indeed the filtering determines a big part of the life of an engine besides the right carburetor setting and good lubrification.
You can always try these kind of oils however it should not alter the setting of the engine, also check the engine after use to see if there is no excessive carbon builtup or something else different. I have sometimes spend too much time troubleshooting problems with engines due to products used outside of what we suggest are being used.
And yes, do not ré_use the filters already used, a foam does not have the same price as the engine...
