This is probably a dumb question for an RB motor but does anyone know if I should take apart my WS7III before I run it and clean and lube all the parts before I run this thing for the first time? I know I bought a less expensive big block and I took it apart just to see what it was made of and I found metal shvings inside from when the motor was put together at the factory. Looked like just milling metal from when the motor was machined. I know this will trash a motor quick because it happened to my first Tmaxx with the 2.5 TRX engine. Im not knocking Traxxas cause they reparied it and had it back to me in three days but I dont want to see something like this happen to a motor this expensive. I would appreciate any input. Thank You. Jeff

We regularely use stock engines wich we never open and use as they are supplied and have not run into problems like you mention. In general more damage is made to the engine when it is disasembled and assembled again.

Rody my question is relate to this question here. At my track I run my on road car with old timers and they suggest to me to perform this cleaning tip after each day of fun. They say to take the air filter out and take the 4 screw on the back plate of the engine off and spray WD-40 inside the carb while tilting the engine for the WD-40 come out the back plate and like that it cleans the engine of the fuel it is use on it.. After this process to place after run oil in the card and in the bearing which is inside the engine when the conrod is at. I want your feedback because for this point on I am only going to buy RB engine..
Thanks Felix

Personally after each use of my engines, I disassemble them and clean them with petrol(not gasoline) or denatured alcohol, in the same time I take the oportunity to chack everything and assemble the engine again with our oil part#01400
I would not suggest to use WD40 since it is something which can loosen rusted and oxydisez things so there must be some kind of agressive things inside to be able to do this, so I suggest you do not use WD40 in the engines for this.

I have a brand new RB Concept C6 .21 Class On-Road Engine.
"Personally after each use of my engines, I disassemble them and clean them with petrol(not gasoline) or denatured alcohol, in the same time I take the oportunity to chack everything and assemble the engine again with our oil part#01400"
Can I ask you kindly if you can please give detailed instructions/steps on how to do this or direct me to another website you used before in the past when you were a beginner ? This is because I do not want to make mistakes with my new engine and break it.
We in the UK have unleaded Petrol 95 octane. Is it good enough ? Please let me know details if possible. Is it a good idea to clean the pipe and manifold with petrol too ? Also does disassembling and assembling again the engine after each usage damage the engine or put wear on it ?
Thanks Rody, RC_Fanatic

For the disassembling of an engine please refer to our FAQ section of our website! As for the petrol(every country has its own mention for this), do not use petrol from the gasstation, but use the petrol you use to clean the paint-brushes after painting.
The more cleaner you can keep things the better it is in a mechanical point of view. If you can assemble and disassemble things in a proper way without damaging then there is no problem at all doing it.

Thanks Rody. You are a very helpful guy like Robert said at RC Consumables/Ace Hardware Hobbies. This is my first RB engine and I can not wait to start it. I will use white spirit to clean the engine and the pipe etc before first start.
