Is a RB#6 plug good for 20% nitro? If I run 30%, should I use a RB#5 plug? This would be for outside temps between 65 - 85 degrees. Also, I've been told that the RB728 doesn't need shims for 30%, is this true? If I shim for 30%, what is the total number of shims needed?

I don't personally own a .28 engine, but normally you can run all engines shimmed for 25% nitro also with 30% nitro. To play it save, you can add a 0.1mm shim. As for the plugs, for 30% I would use a #7 or a #8 plug.
But in general, less shimming plus high plug number increases the opportunity of pre-detonations.
For running-in your .28 engine I would use it as it comes out of the box.

The question is, is the RB728 really setup for 25% nitro or perhaps 30%? The tech at AMain hobbies seems to think nothing is needed to run 30%. So it would be nice to get the answer from the horses mouth. I don't want to damage the engine due to an oops.
