With the availability of AAC liner engines in the near future with the Xenon R series has there been an alternate break in procedure established or should we just default to the tried and true method??

Hi Rick,

The running-in procedure of the AAC liners has to be done in the same way as is done with the ABC liners.

The main difference with the AAC liners is that the piston/sleeve combination is needed to be very tight when cold because once the engine is at its working temperature the fit is perfect.

The AAC liners also need more time to reach their optimal temperature and so you need to pay attention to start with the engine slowly.

If the engine is rich in the first few laps never close immediately the HSN because you will finish too hot and when you do this you will loose compression very soon.

Take your time to set the engine correctly and you will get the power you need, if however your run the engine too lean it will get flushed and not give you the services you need. But then do not blaim the engine but only yourself....

Hope this has helped you further.
