I have read through the running in procedures and wanted to use this method to break in my new K-12. I have ran a tank through the idle cycle and am trying to run it at open throttle as mentioned. I can not get it to run much past idle or maybe 1/4 throttle. It will just die when I try to open the throttle. I know it needs to be very rich on the main needle to run at open throttle so I am hesitant to lean it out on order to get it to run. I started at 5 turns out as the web site suggests and went in as far as one full turn, but it still won't run much past idle. By the way, the low speed is 2-1/2 turns out. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...

Leave the glow plug heater on the engine until it clears.
That helps while running in the engine. Remember, it is running way too rich.

Thanks for the replies.... It just dies shortly after idle. I have tried it both stationary in my truck, and with the truck rolling on the ground. Either way it will rev just enough to engage the clutch and die shortly past that point as I increase the throttle. I have tried to gradually ease into the throttle and also opening it full throttle all at once. Either way it dies. It doesn't get rough and then die, it just dies quick. If I didn't know where the settings were I would think it was lean because of the way it dies, but I know this can't be the case. It dies immediately if I open throttle quickly, and dies at about 1/8 to 1/4 throttle if I ease into it. I have tried leaving the glow heater on and it will clear out a bit more, but not past 1/2 throttle. By the way, I did have to leave the heater on through most of the first tank during the idle cycles (several batteries worth).
I'm pretty sure it's just really rich, but I think that's how it's suppose to be. I briefly tried turning in the high speed. I went at far as 3-1/2 turns out and it still dies. I didn't want to go in any further than that. I also tried turning in the low speed after turning the high speed back out. Should I be working with the high speed or low speed setting??? I have the low speed where it will idle through a tank, but it seems to surge a bit in idle speed. Thanks again,

Mabe your engine is full of oil. Remove the plug, turn the engine over a few times and then reinstall the plug.
Also, try changing the plug.
When the wheels start turning, do they spin forward or backward???
I've seen people with your problem and in the end the cause was that the starter was turning backwards. Some engines start this way but die at partial throttle. The engine must run counter clockwise.

First do as Alex has suggested, then you can try the following.
Close first the idle-neelde and try again. You could also try to change the glowplug for a new one(same type), could be the oil in your fuel a put a deposit which makes is not work correctly anymore.
If still you then cannot get the engine running, then go back to your LHS from who you purchased your engine from and ask them to make the setting for you and show you how to set the engine.

Thanks a lot guys for your advice. Believe it or not, I think it was too lean. I finally tried running the high speed way out (almost all the way) and was able to get it to run with the throttle wide open. So I have ran the three tanks at 80, 90, and 100 and have started to run the truck some, still rich, but starting to develop some power. It's actually running very good for still being rich. Can't wait to get some more time on it and start tuning it in!!!
