hello rody......well im in the process of breaking in my new c5, i chose the heat cycle method of break in and all is going very well. im on my third tank now running it 3-4 intervals allowing the engine to reach temps of 220-230. my question is the factory settings on the c5, are they considered to be on the rich side, the engine seems to have no problem getting up to the 230 mark and ive read in the past not to run any hotter than 240, so it seems to me that i wont need to lean out much, maybe a little on the bottom.....does this sound correct to you??? thank you for your support and producing such amazing engines.......jim bishop

If you engine is going easily to the 203F temperatures it can be that you need to richen up a little more the main-needle to the the temperature down.
The base settings of the carburetors are indeed normally on the rich side but depending on what fuel you use or where you are can change these settings. So always measure to be sure the engine is not running too lean.

thank you, thats what i was looking for. i found that with 30% fuel ( 0.1mm shim added) and my location that the engine was operating in near perfect temps as set from factory.....glad to hear that this is indeed possible.......thanks again jim
