Hi, My .12 modified engine won't stay running for more than 30 seconds. The compression is just too much. I don't want to increase the idle too much and get high rpm's the first tank of fuel, so what should I do? I tried starting the engine for a half hour only to get through a half tank of 20% fuel. what should I do? Thanks! -Andy

It can be that your setting is to rich at the bottom end to keep the engine running, look at the exhaust and if there is much unburnt fuel comming out close the bottom end needle but be carefull not to close it to much.Close the needle appr. 1/8 turn a time but there must be stil fuel coming out during run-in. Or if you don't want to lean it out already you can always keep the battery connected to the glowplug and this way the engine will probaly keep running, but when the engine has run-in it's best to change the glowplug i think.

You could also go back to your LHS or Dealer from who you have purchased your engine and ask them to help you with the first setting, in this way you are sure all is O.K. and that you are not doing anything wrong.
