i have a c-4 buggy motor, The outside temp where i live has been between 30- 46 degrees F. Is this two cold to break the engine in ?

This is indeed cold, when you want to run-in your engine with these temperatures, should be normally no problem, however do not try and reach the max. temperatures for you engine(220), you might not reach these due to the low outside temperature and run the engine too lean.

i live in a simular climate as quietfly, and when i broke in my engine it was running COLD (130-150) [Eek!] so instead of leaning it out to pick up the temps i wrapped the head in a few layers tin foil...wrapped tighly around the head.

this worked to get the temps to a usable 200 or so.

do you guys ever try this? is it save to do?

i got the idea from the truckers that put cardboard in the front grills of the big rigs to help keep the diesel engines warm!!) [Big Grin]

Yes, this is a trick we use when it is very cold or when we have to race in the rain.
