High Rody,
I'm after a little advice for mixing my own fuel as pre-mixed is very expensive in Australia.

I heard you mention to someone when you were here for the worlds that for castor you use Castrol (I assume this is Castrol M?). This oil here is very thick and has a slightly yellow colour is this the same as you use?

I normally mix my fuel at 8%castor and 2%synthetic does this sound right or can I reduce the overall oil content with a high % of castor?

What synthetic oil would you recommend?

Thanks for your help.

Yes, Castrol M, this oil exists in the Castrol range of oils, it says it is for model engines.

With your mix 8% castrol and 2% synthetic you should be O.K.

Concerning the sythetic oil to use is more difficult because there are so many types possible and this varies from country to country.

Thanks for that.

In regard to the synthetic oil, we generally use either Klotz or EDL. Do you have any knowledge or recommendations on either of those?

I've used Klotz lubricants for Kart racing and they work very well. Their castor oil is very good.
