What is optimized temperature for c3 motor?
Some people tell me that it is 120 degrees celsius. My car is quite lasy when the motor is warmed at 120 degrees.

You can use the engine till 130°C and you will see that the performances then should be better.

It is very difficult for me to mantain the 130°C, I have to lean the mixture so as to obtain a good power, and then I have to open the needle. This is a very difficult process. And when the engine gets a litlle bit cold again I have to go to all the process again. I´m using Byron fuel 25%, plug #6, and ,5 head clearence, normal weather (20°C). flyon@ctcinternet.cl

I do not know if you try to set the engine exactly at this temperature? but if you try I can tell you it will never be easy to do.

It is normal that the temperature can fluctuate and that you have to change the carburetor setting, also please not that the engine is normally richer with the tank full and leaner when the tanks becomes empty again. So this can make things more difficult.
But it is normal that this can change.

Tip: always tune an engine when the tank is more than half way full.

Thanks for the tip Speed.
Any way, I don´t want the set the engine at that temperature. My problem is to mantain the temperature lower than 130°C. The only thing that I have not play with is the head clearence. What can I do with it? Does the carb. restrictors make any help on this?
I´m using the 063 pipe, and 14T clutch bell.

Just try and add 1 shim of 0.1mm, however do not use the restrictor, they are to limit the power and fuel-consumption but they make the engine more difficult to set.

Isn't 14T too much for most engines? I have only tried 13T so I can't say, but the experienced guys at the track says 14T is too much.

Well, I guess it depends on which car you have --- if the gearing is different. I was talking MP6/MP7.5

The gearing you want to use depends on the track and its grip available. If the track is very short, you need a shorter gearing then usual. If the short track is very slippery it is no real use to gear the engine short since it will only make your wheels spin and so then it is better again to use a longer gear ratio.
