Dear Rody,

What is the optimum temperature for this engine? I raced for an hour and the temperature was about 110 degree Celcius, it seems a good temperature, and there was a too much fuel consumption. The other engines were about 5 minutes but mine was about 4 minute.I am using Novarossi 2630 tuned pipe with the 5 fin manifold.
In addition, can I use the crankshaft of the RB R3 RC for this engine?
I think the only difference between RB R3 RC and RB R3 2008 version is the crankshaft am I right?

Thank you,

We suggest in general not to exceed 130°C bet this all depends on the device you are using to measure and how you measure, so for me the measuring of the temperatures are just an indication an not a certitude.

If the engine runs strong, cleans out well, you see smoke and the idle is nice and constant, then I would not worry too much about the temperature.

If you do not have enough runtime then this can be due to a too rich setting but also that you do not drive efficient or the car is not optimal.

All the parts of the R3 series engines can be interchanged and yes the crankshaft has changed.

Yes, I know that the temperature is an indicator, but I just wanted to know the limits. My engine works great everything is ok [Smile]

As you said my car may need a clutch setting, I will try the clutch gripping in higher RPM or will change to another gear ratio, may be it helps to reduce the consumption.

Thank you for your help Rody, have a nice day
