Is there a way to retro fit the k12 backplate, or replace it so that i could use a shaft start system similar to the HPI one? i have this motor in an HPI RS4 right now and would like to have the option available. if not what needs to be replaced or done to it to allow me to "bump" start it. (Part numbers please)

thanks!

I have not completely understood what you want to do but if you want to transform your side exhaust .12 pullstart engine into a bumpstart engine then you only need part#01700-081

do you know if the HPI Roto Start system for .12 would fit this? assuming that i don't do the bump start conversion that is. Could i take off the pullstart assembly and use the back plate drive bolt and one way bearing to mate up to the ROTO start? I would prefer to do this.

Please let me know.

I found that on this site the roto start fits some, but i am not sure if it will for mine, could you verify if this would work or not?

Thanks

Rody,
Sorry for beating a dead horse here but i don't have anyone near me in the LHS's that has a clue so i want to be extra clear. Are there any HPI Roto backplates that will fit the .12 k12 motor? I know that HPI has one available for their .12 motors but will it mate up to mine?

Thanks and i swear this is it!

No, no Roto Backplates of any other brand will fit on this engine.

No problem for your extra questions.
