I got this car off ebay. NICE RIDE! but I knew nothing about rb exept that they cost a lot. I found out they take %16 fuel and maybe that's where I messed up. I just put a friends %20 in it and vroom! Now I just gotta adjust the idle. I think this guy was shimmed. I think so because no hobbie shop I called had %16. Don't think it's very popular in USA. I had to order it from Tower hobbies. Anyway, I read about the shims, where are these shims? Could I remove them to finish out the rest of the %16 I baught? I have 1.5 quarts left so maybe I could buy a quart of %30 and mix it all together. If anyone knows about this I would really apreciate the advice. I would also like to know what version the k12 is identical to. I have slide carb and no pullstart. I would like to know so I could replace the conrod soon. Rody, if you see this, Your the man! I think it's great how you support this forum the way you do. You must be a good guy! Is that washer looking guy under my glowplug the shim?

No need to change the shims in between 16 and 20% nitro, I suggest you leav it as it is.

Now where this shim is situated, it is made out of aluminum and so you can hardly see it. The shim is in between the combustion chamber button and the sleeve, very often is is pressed against the aluminium of the combustion chamber.

To be able to indentify the engine for you, tell me how the part of the crankshaft looks, where is situated the clutch?, check out the following LINK

thank you for quick responce. On thursday night I slipped on some ice and gave myself a cuncusion. I will tear the moter down soon because I broke a rim today on a crack. Seems this guy has a little to much torque or I need a better track, at least at 32 f. Thinking about getting sronger rims. Anyone have any advice on that? Had a 2 X thick shock sweater on it and still never got hot. Couldn't get it to idle but I found a range somewhere between baugy and top end and rolled with it. Seems if I try to tune for top end at lower temps I can't get it to idle. I hear this is normal with this moter. I can't bolieve how hard it is to build heat. The cooling head only feels like 1 hour old coffee. Hot coffee is less of a temp than what this k12's running temp is though, right?

Maybe it is just too cold outside and this gives you the tuning issue's, but even when cold the engine should be able to idle, how is the compression when the engine is warm.

Also it is normal that the plastic becomes more fragile, especially when it is cold.

Got it warm! Had to let it sit on starter box for a couple tanks. But I finally got it warm. I had to open up the idle air scew a lot, but I think with another air filter and warm wether it will be fine. I'll wait till it warms up to tune it more. I think it did seem to build a little more pressure warm.

holey crap. This S.O.B flys! Too Fast! I don't know what to do though. It will burn up any regular tires and just spins with drift tires.
