Hi Rody, how will i be able to tell if I have added too much or too little shims to an engine? What are the signs when too much head shims has been added to the engine other than idling problems.

If you do not have enough shims the sign will be inside detonation and blowing glowplugs and the top of the piston and combustion chamber are like sandblasted.
If you have too much shims, the engine has not a lot of power, good top-speed and strange idle.
What engine do you have and if you measure all the shims together what is the tickness?

Hi Rody, I have a Matrix RW. Total shims are 0.4mm and I am running on 25% nitro. Thanks.
