Hi Rody,

- Does the Matrix RW need more shims for 20% Nitro?.
- The after run oil is used when the engine is still hot or i have to wait for a few minutes to let it cool down.
- The ceramics bearings will be released soon?.

Thanks.

Hi Rody,

I am going to make the running-in procedure but before that i have some questions:

- When you make the first start after opening or closing the idle needle (if itīs necesary due to the RPM) the engine needs a little help with the throttle a little open or just let it go?.
- Between each tank i have to let it cool down or i have to fill fuel until i reach at least 125cc? How much fuel do you recommend and Which will be the average of temperature in this first process?
- Iīve heard that after this you have to open the engine and clean all the inside parts except the red dot with brake clean spray to eliminate all the possible metal dust, itīs true or not necessary?

- In the second phase in the manual recommends to run the engine in the track to let it cool down properly but in this procedure which will be the correct working temperature?
- Also, in the manual says that run the engine al least 375cc of fuel but between each tank i have to let it cool down or just fill fuel until i reach the ccs?. How much fuel do you recommend in this phase too?
- The throttle needs to be totally open or only half part?
- Also, iīve heard that in this phase you need to open the engine to clean all the metal dust, itīs true or not?

- When i complete all the running-in procedure which is the average of temperature aprox in competition level with 20% of nitro?

Excuse me Rody with all these questions but iīve bought the SpeedLine Matrix, i think is one of the best engines in the market, itīs a good investment and i donīt want to make any mistake.

Thanks for your time and answer.

-If the engine needs help at the first start then do not hesitate to help the engine to stay running.
-Let the engine cool in between each tank if you have the time, if you do not have the time then add 1-2 extra tanks of running-in. I cannot give you any temps as long as the engine is running rich you should be O.K.
-No need to open the engine at this time, since this is also not mentionned in our instructions.
-Do not worry about the temperatures as long as the engine is running rich.
-no need to let the engine cool down anymore at this time.
-The throttle needs to be fully opened.
-No need to open the engine.
-Try not to exceed 230F at all times.

If you run the engine too hot it will not last very long.

Hi Rody,

At the beginning of the running-in procedure when you tried to turn the flywheel it was very difficult but when i finished it, now you can turn the flywheel even with your fingers (with a little help of course). This is normal ? Because i knew that when you turn the flywheel with your fingers the piston has no compression. Maybe i made a bad running-in.

Thanks for your answer.

Hi Rody,

Thanks for your answer. I always use an air filter with itīs oil so i donīt think the engine could have swallowed dirt. The engine is running perfect, it has power, it runs very fast, it smokes a lot, and the temperature is 100 C. With this features i donīt know why the flywheel is so soft (as i repeat you can turn it with a little pressure with your fingers, but it wasnīt as the beginning of the procedure).

I appreciate your help and advice.

Thanks.

Hi Rody,

Me again. Today i had a huge problem with my engine, suddenly when i pull full throttle the engine didnīt rev-up, it waited for 1 or 2 seconds to rev-up like it has no compression. I checked very carefully and discovered that the crankshaft had a little circle play, iīve opened the engine for the first time and discovered that inside of the engine had a little of filings, it was no dust, i took out the shaft and the back bearing have a play, thatīs the reason that the crankshaft was moving inside/ outside and circles. My engine has no more than 1.5 litres i did all what you said and follow the instruction manual, i use Byron with 20% of nitro and the engine in all the running-in procedure itīs temp was no more than 110C. Today was going to be my first race with the new engine so what do i do now?

It has a warranty so which is the procedure?

Thanks again.

I cannot do anything from here for you, sorry. You have to contact the LHS or Dealer from who you have purchased the engine from and ask them for assistance in this matter.
