Hi Rody,
Can you please exspress your feelings on using the Serpent / Hudy engine break-in stand(assuming you are familiar with it). I will be using Byron 30% fuel and I have .04 head clearence.I will be using 01051-7 glow plug. I intend to heat the engine before starting and to just follow the instruction supplied with the stand. Do you think that I have too much head clearence? I would apreciate any other advice that you can offer.
Best regards,
Tom

Yes, you can use the Serpent/Hudy break-in stand for your engines if you want.

Suggested thickness of the shims for 30% nitro for the V12 engines is in total 0.4mm(original you will have 0.3mm)
The rest seems all O.K. to me.

Hi Rody,
Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. I would like to ask just one more, in my case would the prefered method be to use the break-in stand or in the car.
Best regards,
Tom

Both methods will have the same end-result.

1) the break-in bench is an extra investment but has the advantage that the charge on the engine is always equal due to the propellor, however you must cover the cooling-head of the engine so the engine reaches a proper temperature. However you still need to finish the final running and setting of the engine on the car to let the engine get used to the conditions and rpm's in the car.

2) The runnin in the car can be a little more delicate but the engine will get used to the conditions in the car immediately and no need to make an extra investment for the run-in bench.
