Dear Rody I want to buy a new engine for our Championship on 2006, I will run on Serpent 710, and my choice is a V12 1700-000425, so I think a good match for this engine is a 1751-195 and 1751-402, what do you think?

Now I have several X12 engines, at least have two with 1700-050T crankcase, I want to rebuild completely this engines, having the same or closer specs as the 1700-000425 to comply IFMAR and ROAR, can I use the 1700-067/R crankshaft and the 1700-037/R sleeve/piston/conrod set?

I will change bearings, head buttoms, O-rings, etc. I want to use this old rebuilded engines as backup, what do you think?

The pipe-combination is good but I would add the other manifolds(01751-196 and 01751-197)too, so you can alter the rpm range of the engine.

The X12 uses a 11mm crankshaft while the V12 engines are 11.5mm, so you cannot interchange this, however you can do this with the piston/liner if you want.

However before doing so, check if it is worth it, sometimes a rebuild becomes more expensive then the engine itself.

Rody,

Hello! I opened my pipe, it has too much oil in it... which means that i am running to rich, my temp is 282 deg. farenheit, low speed needle opened at 3 turns, high speed needle at 5 1/4 turns.. if i lean out the motor the temperature may rise up really high. is this ok or should i re-tune my V12 Rody? my runtime usually ends at 7:30. heres a picture of the pipe. thanks! more power!

That you find oil in the pipe, is quite normal, this has nothing to do with the setting of your engine.

How hot you run your engine is important however, try not too exceed 230F, if you do you are then probably running the engine too lean which is dangerous for the engine and can then shorten its life.

Isn't the 402 pipe illegal since it's turbo?

Depends under what rules you are running, if this is illegal for you then you can always use the 401 pipe.
