Hi...I have the V12-401 according to the manual for this engine the .3 shim is good to 16% do I need to install a shim for 20%. I bought it used and when I got it I tore it down and noticed pitting on top of the piston...thanks

When you go from 16% nitro to 20% nitro, no need to change anything, leave it as it is.

The pitting on the top of the piston indicates that the engine has run probably too lean, eaten a glowplug or there is too much play on the conrod. Anyway, I suggest you check the engine entyerly before using it.
